Hi, I’m Tessa.

I am an abstract and impressionist artist from Texas.  My primary subject matter is nature, but inspiration comes from all around: emotions felt from old photographs, the way my mood shifts when I hear one of my favorite rainy day songs, or the magic of reading a fairy tale to my kids.

I began art classes when I was a child and took them all through school. It was a whole new world of adventure for me, a place where I was able to rest my mind, process hard things, and see the world with more empathy. I studied Monet’s water lilies and Degas’ ballerinas. I painted my first landscapes in high school and fell in love with impressionism. I loved abstracts that were moody and had a strong composition. Honestly, not too much has changed. All these years later and I’m still drawn to the beauty of the land, or the mystery in the layers of an abstract.

I want to paint paintings that stir emotions and welcome nostalgia. Because art should remind you of your most special memories, emotions, and dreams. For me, art is a page in a love story.

I paint from my studio in Kyle, Texas, where I live with my husband, Thaddeus, and children, Lily and Moses.

Xoxo, Tessa

FAQs

What mediums do you use?

I work primarily in oils, acrylics, and sometimes oil pastel and charcoal.

How often do you release new work?

I typically release a few new pieces every month. Occasionally a whole collection. To stay up to date with my latest pieces you can follow me on Instagram @tessabrownart and sign up for my newsletter where I will share “first looks”.

How much is shipping?

Shipping varies from piece to piece and location to location. Shipping for larger pieces can sometimes get pricey. If you email me, I am more than happy to get you a quote!

Do you paint commissions?

I take on select commission work when it fits into my existing body of work. I have a few spots open per season. You can always email me to find out if I have any openings, or to get a deposit down to hold a spot in my schedule for the future.

Do you have framing suggestions?

I recommend going to a local framer for larger pieces, but for smaller pieces I love finding vintage frames at thrift shops or on Etsy! I think natural wood in both lighter and darker stains, and gold and silver frames all work really well with my work.

What is your shipping policy?

All art ships from my studio in 2-3 weeks from the order being processed. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, especially around holidays, please allow for a few extra days. Most orders will ship USPS or UPS.

Where is my order?

All orders will ship with a tracking number that will be provided to you upon shipping. Once the orders have left my studio, I only know as much as the tracking number provides you. Feel free to reach out to the shipping service in accordance with the tracking you received to get any updates. I’ve rarely had things get lost in transit, but it unfortunately does happen on occasion. You can follow USPS guidelines for missing/lost packages and open a case. After going through those steps, you can send any news or communication from the inquiry to me at tessabrownart@gmail.com and I will review it and respond accordingly.

What is your return policy?

Because of the delicate and unique nature of fine art and my made to order fine art prints, all orders are final. Please reach out with any questions before purchasing. I’m happy to help!
